Process Controls Engineer

Description
The Process Controls Engineer will provide test equipment start-up, commissioning, and sustaining engineering support for all on-board and networked control systems. Provide input on new equipment designs and participate in design reviews. Pro-actively coordinate with technicians, engineers, and the department manager to assist with special test and data acquisition requirements.
Responsibilities
Apply computer and controls engineering to semi-automate existing life test equipment
Assist with special test set-ups that require some level of automation and/or data acquisition
Adhere to all corporate and laboratory safety standards and policies, including all EPA regulations
Provide guidance to electrical and electronic technicians in programming, repair, and maintenance of PLCs/PACs programs and control systems.
Develop test plans for proof of concept testing
Work in a team environment
Demonstrate conscientious and ambitious behavior
Effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms to various groups, including but not limited to: technicians, supervisors, department manager, and engineers
Collaborate with the Pune, India global lab support team
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Travel: 5%
Requirements
Basic:
Ability to read and interpret PLC & PAC wiring diagrams, Control Narratives, and P&ID drawings
Experience with GE Proficy iFix or similar HMI/SCADA system, VBA, .NET, and SQL for the development of HMI/SCADA systems
Ability to program in multiple languages, including ladder logic, structured text, and VB scripting
Experience with PLCs & PACs, I/O hardware, and instrumentation
Experience with Networks, TCP/IP, ProfiBus and Modbus
Must be familiar with Windows OS and Microsoft Office products
An engineering degree (electrical, mechanical, or computer) plus 5 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
Knowledge of thermodynamic properties for various fluids
