Job Summary We are looking for a safety specialist to join our team, and the person in this role will spend a significant amount of time traveling to complete field audits.
Some overnight stays will be necessary.
The safety specialist will help WMI stay compliant with applicable safety laws and regulations as well as internal standards and policies and will work closely with the safety manager to identify risks and apply timely measures and solutions to assist with compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Build strong relationships with coworkers Communicate with employees to ensure they are aware of current policies, regulations, and best practice procedures Conduct regular and timely audits to identify potential compliance and noncompliance situations Provide reports and data regarding audits, and communicate training needs identified during the audit process Assist with coaching when resolving noncompliance situations, creating a realistic plan or process to overcome them Help maintain contractor qualification databases Qualifications Previous experience in an ammonia/HVAC refrigeration environment is preferred 2-3 years of experience with OSHA construction and general industry is preferred Strong computer skills Strong risk assessment skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong problem solving skills Safe driving record Salary and Benefits We offer a competitive salary based on experience, and benefits include a 401(k) program with company match, employer sponsored health insurance, paid holidays, and paid vacation time.
