Peerless is looking for a Buyer 2 to join our team in Sidney, OH.
As a Buyer you will be responsible for procurement of assigned items and executing buying strategies in accordance with agreed upon material buying plans at the optimum cost/quality relationship.
The Buyer analyzes market and industry conditions and develops supply recommendations, assists with contract negotiations for implementation, interviews sales representatives and vendors, and researches and recommends alternate supplier sources.
The Buyer also typically purchases raw materials per contract in addition to MRO.

Set-up and maintain the purchasing and delivery arrangements for all materials needed to meet production needs.
Ensures cost-effective purchasing arrangements are in place for both internal and external customers and suppliers.
Performs negotiation and contract set-up.
Work with accounts payable and receiving department to reconcile purchases.
Leads complex vendor negotiations and contract set-up.
Performs analysis of supplier performance.
Offers advice to management on how to improve margins.
Negotiates optimum arrangements for pricing and delivery of materials.
Works through challenging materials management issues and sets up cost effective programs such as vendor managed inventory and Kanban.
Understand engineering drawings.
All duties as assigned to assist in the success of the purchasing function.
Other duties may be assigned.
Basic Requirements:
High school diploma/GED minimum required.
At least 2-3 years' experience negotiating prices and sourcing vendors.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Strong math skills.
